Just the FAQs

Do I need to make a reservation?

No, just come on in during business hours and we’ll help you get started.  Save yourself some time by signing the waiver and video orientation acknowledgement online before you arrive.

Can I see a virtual tour?

Who needs to sign a waiver?

Everyone, even if you aren’t climbing. You will also need to sign the orientation video acknowledgement form.  Click below to fill both out before you arrive to the gym.

What do I need to start?

Just some comfortable athletic clothes and an adventurous attitude; climbing shoes are available to rent if needed as street shoes are not permitted on our walls.

Do you have an age limit?

Yes, the minimum age to participate is 7.  Additionally, if you’re bringing a child under the age of 14, they must be supervised at all times:

  • All children between the ages of 10-13 must be supervised by an adult at a 2:1 – child to adult – ratio.
  • Children under 10 years old must be directly supervised (within arm’s length) by an adult at a 1:1: – child to adult – ratio.
  • If you bring more than one child, please plan accordingly.

Do I need a partner or can I climb by myself?

If you are rope climbing, it’s always advised to climb with a partner, but we do have 8 auto belays in the roping area (which allow you to climb without a belay partner).  Bouldering is done without a partner or ropes.

What is Bouldering and is it hard?

Bouldering is a style of climbing that is generally done on shorter walls (less than 20 feet tall) without the use of harnesses or ropes.  It’s as challenging or easy as you want it to be, and our “problems” are color coded to help you identify its level of difficulty.

Awesome gym and community. Seems centered on individual climbing between large bouldering section and multiple auto-belays, which is great for training purposes.
Response from the owner:Thanks Valerie!
One of the best gyms I've been to. The facilities are 💯, the community is very welcoming and there is always something happening if not at the gym but also at the cafe. Photos are from the very first day the gym opened, we eventually became members because we just keep coming back

Climbed here while visiting from Wisconsin. This was my first visit, but it was very obvious that there is a great, friendly community here at this gym. I’m a more casual climber than my friends Johnny and Rob, but this is the nicest gym I have ever been to.
Response from the owner:Thanks Milo!

Just an amazing overall experience with a great community. The facility is primarily a bouldering gym but does also have a top rope section for all you harness loving climbers out there✌🏽. Right in the middle of method is a gym section featuring power racks and many different kinds of free weights and kettle bells. Method also offers classes like yoga, capoeira, climbing classes etc. Great spot forsure... 10/10 🤙🏽 3/24/22 - Update... this place isn't great... its beyond great! Think of whatever word you want and insert it there, then come thru and stay for the coffee and sandwiches
Response from the owner:Thanks Jose!

A truly phenomenal bouldering gym. I love entering through the art deco foyer - perhaps the best entrance to any gym anywhere? The gym itself is a unique space. The staff are friendly and routes are frequently reset. There are lots of things going on such as yoga classes, on-sight competitions, community route setting. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Response from the owner:Thanks Jesse!

Have not tried their memberships yet, but came to see the gym as I'm considering moving to Newark. The place is pretty awesome, they do a great job with the tour, and I'm very excited to join if I move nearby! They have an emphasis on community events and specialize in bouldering, although they have some tall wall as well. They also offer fitness classes like capoeira, which is really interesting!

Getting started with rock climbing was pretty scary for me, after about 7-8 months I feel quite good about it all because of the staff and community there. They are really helping and they are amazing people. Apart from the climbing walls, there is a gym and other fitness classes including yoga and capoeira. All the instructors there are kind and enthusiastic. Thumbs up to all the team. Give it a shot if you want to
Response from the owner:Thanks Touseef!

I have seen strangers become friends, newbies become crushers, warlocks multiclass into rogues, all in Method. Never have I seen a stronger community or a stronger team of people making dreams come true. The facility is incredibly well thought out. The management is kind and giving. The climbers are diverse and the events are actually fun. Imagine if a bunch of actual climbers ran a gym- thats Method. Come here to crush coffee and boulders and make a friend, stay to become part of the community.
Response from the owner:Thanks Victor!

A very amazing place. The staff are genuinely THE nicest people on the planet. The gym is a great place to meet Like-minded people who love climbing. I’ve learned so much just from watching others and simply saying hello/ asking questions. It’s a great environment, and I’m always challenging myself there. I leave the gym always feeling so accomplished and eager to get back. Every single time. I’m really happy I was introduced to this amazing gym and community. 10/10.

We feel so lucky to have this place! It has such a wonderful sense of community, and our kids (11 and 8) feel at home here. Our 8 year old son had his birthday party here, which was AMAZING. They had creative climbing- based games for the kids and they even put goody bags at the top of the climbs. They were so patient and kind with each of the kids - I can’t imagine a better place for a birthday party!!!
Response from the owner:Thanks Thomas!

Great climbing gym with owners that emphasize community. The boulders are well set with a nice mix of styles (competition, "finger-y", slab, steep, etc.). They set the walls in sections so there's enough time to work on projects but there's also a new set every other week. Rope climbs are excellent with many auto-belays if you train alone. They're short (35-40 feet) but are very technical and thoughtfully set. The resistance training, campus board, selection of hangboards, treadwall, spray wall, moonboard, and tension board are great for training at all levels.
Response from the owner:Thanks for the thorough review!
